Seventeen Group shows absolutely no signs of slowing down the rapid pace of its acquisition strategy and today announced the acquisition of Cornwall-based Christopher Rowe Limited (CRL) effective May 11, 2021 for an undisclosed amount. .
Founded in 1984 by Christopher Rowe, CRL is a respected local broker specializing in the marine industry and related trades as well as individuals. The company, now owned by Christopher’s wife Kathleen, employs eight people in its Penzance office.
Seventeen Group acquired CRL to expand its presence in the South West and establish itself in Cornwall. The operation also represents an opportunity for James Hallam to expand his Everard Marine division in a region with strong maritime presence and associated businesses.
Commenting on the deal, Paul Anscombe (pictured), CEO of Seventeen Group, said the team was very happy to welcome Christopher Rowe’s team to Seventeen Group. This is an important strategic acquisition, he said, which should provide a very exciting future for the Penzance team.
“Cornwall is a unique county that prides itself on supporting the local economy,” he said, “and so we are convinced that if we are to play a role in it we have to take root for the long term”.
