Ireland to tackle cost of insurance in justice reforms

By Irene Madongo (March 29, 2022, 4:04 p.m. BST) — Ireland has said it will introduce legislation to tackle the high cost of business insurance premiums, in a move cautiously welcomed by campaigners who are struggling with soaring hedging prices despite being light on the details.

The Justice Department said on Monday it would focus on tackling the cost of coverage and changing the law in its Justice 2022 plan, a package of measures that includes reforming insurance laws, domestic violence and white collar crime.
