Blue and green lights have been spotted in the London night sky and everyone is wondering why

Many have taken to social media to share videos and photos of what appears to be an Unidentified Aerial Phenomenon (UAP), which saw clouds from Ealing to Walthamstow change color.

Social media was quick to speculate on the reasons – with some blaming the aliens.

A Twitter user said: “I saw PSUs earlier in West Ealing. Do you have any idea what this could be? No sound, that is to say. like a helicopter, etc. but the lights were moving slowly.

For the moving blue lights seen at Ealing, a Reddit user suggested that it could be a special train used to inspect overhead power lines.

Network Rail’s new measurement trains record the tracks and structures around them to ensure they are in top working order and have already been spotted at Teeside and Bristol.

The lights were seen on opposite sides of the capital

That doesn’t explain the lights seen more than 15 miles away in Walthamstow, however, with one user suggesting the lights were from a fountain in Fellowship Square, Waltham Forest.

But, given the low strength of these lights, there is a more likely explanation in the form of a new City of London light show slated for winter.

The Northern Lights Exhibit will bring the world-famous natural wonder of the Northern Lights to Guildhall Yard in December.

After seeing the eerie lights in the sky last night, some Londoners believe planners may have tested their equipment.

Reports of the lights have also come from Peckham and Sydenham, suggesting that what caused the display to be very powerful.

Along with aliens, light shows, and trains, social media users have also come up with a few alternative theories.

For example: “God is having a rave”, “This is the bat signal” and “The rapture”.

More mysterious lights spotted last week that “suddenly disappeared”

The most likely explanation, however, could be simply aliens, determined to invade earth and destroy humanity.

Luckily for humans, one user joked, “The aliens were going to land and make contact, but then they saw it was Walthamstow!”

MyLondon has asked the City of London to confirm whether the lights are part of the new display.

Network Rail has also been approached for comment.
